Given over 2,000 years ago to a group of Jewish disciples, the commandment of Jesus found in Matthew 28:19-20 known as the “Great Commission” has affected the entire face of the globe as we know it.

In 1886, evangelist D.L. Moody and campus minister Luther Wishard invited two delegates from each college across America to a month-long Christian conference at Moody’s residence in Mount Hermon, Massachusetts. Little did they know that what was about to take place would catalyze the largest student missions movement in world history.

Starting January 17th college students from across America will be doing the Collegiate Jesus Fast leading up to the Collegiate Day of Prayer (CDOP) on February 25th. In the last 2 years, every campus in America has been covered in prayer on the CDOP. we would like to challenge every person reading this post to prayerfully consider this 40 Day Season of Fasting and Prayer.

While not every Christian is called to be sent internationally as an overseas missionary, every Christian is Biblically responsible to pray for the cause of world missions. John Piper said, “There are only three kinds of Christians when it comes to world missions: zealous goers, zealous senders, and disobedient.”

We go in the name of the ONE having all authority – in heaven and on earth. We receive the power of the Holy Spirit as we go – to the people in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria (“enemies” nearby), and the ends of the earth.

Acts 2:14 takes place right after Peter, along with the other disciples and followers of Jesus, received the promised gift of the Holy Spirit. In this passage, Peter stood up and delivered a message that ultimately signaled the birth of the New Testament church and the apostolic age.
