Starting January 17th college students from across America will be doing the Collegiate Jesus Fast leading up to the Collegiate Day of Prayer (CDOP) on February 25th. In the last 2 years, every campus in America has been covered in prayer on the CDOP. we would like to challenge every person reading this post to prayerfully consider this 40 Day Season of Fasting and Prayer.

While not every Christian is called to be sent internationally as an overseas missionary, every Christian is Biblically responsible to pray for the cause of world missions. John Piper said, “There are only three kinds of Christians when it comes to world missions: zealous goers, zealous senders, and disobedient.”

We go in the name of the ONE having all authority – in heaven and on earth. We receive the power of the Holy Spirit as we go – to the people in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria (“enemies” nearby), and the ends of the earth.

Acts 2:14 takes place right after Peter, along with the other disciples and followers of Jesus, received the promised gift of the Holy Spirit. In this passage, Peter stood up and delivered a message that ultimately signaled the birth of the New Testament church and the apostolic age.

As this nation languishes in the exposure and consequences of our historic inefficacies, fresh trauma threatens to impact the trajectory of young ethnic minorities to come. However, I believe there is a redemptive purpose to our generational pain, a transcendent wisdom within our conundrum, and a glorious future beyond the perplexity of today.

Huddled together beneath a haystack to keep dry in the sudden spring rain shower, Samuel Mills and four young men’s hearts raced as they discussed the great task before them: the evangelization of the “heathen world.” Sheer belief and whispered prayers sparked the greatest surge in foreign missions the world has ever seen. The refrain: “We can do this, if we will.”
